The 24th death anniversary of famous film director Masood Pervaiz is being observed on Monday.

Masood Pervaiz was born in Amritsar in 1918.

He was decorated with Presidential Award for Best Director in 1957 for the film Intizar.

This film won a total of six Presidential Awards.

Masood Pervez won the Nigar Award for Best Director for the films Heer Ranjha and Khak O Khun, while his films were selected for Nigar Award in several categories.

Masood Pervez passed away on this day in 2001 in Lahore.
