Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad says more than fifty billion rupees have been disbursed so far under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Programme.

In a post on his X handle, he said the country's affordable housing finance is gaining momentum.

Highlighting some facts and figures, the adviser said as per the data available till last Friday, more than sixty thousand cases have been approved with an approval rate of thirty-eight point five percent.

He said the focus now is on accelerating disbursements and turning approvals into actual homes, while making mortgage finance simpler and more accessible for Pakistani families.

Khurram Schehzad said housing finance also carries a wider economic multiplier which is supporting construction, cement, steel, allied industries, SMEs and jobs.
