
Pakistan’s seafood exports crossed five hundred million dollar mark for the first time during the last financial year, reaching 568 million dollars.
According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the country's seafood exports recorded a significant thirty-eight percent increase over the past two years. Frozen fish remained Pakistan’s largest seafood export, generating more than one hundred and five million dollars in revenue.
According to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, export standards, food safety and access to new international markets played a key role in this achievement.
Pakistani seafood is reaching China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the US and other international markets.
