Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh held separate meetings with several members of the US Congress and discussed a broad range of areas related to Pak-U.S. relations.
The Congress members included Rich McCormick, Jasmine Crockett, Earl "Buddy" Carter and Neal Dunn.
The meetings focused on strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in trade, investment, people-to-people contacts, and expanding avenues of economic interaction and security cooperation.
During the meetings, views were also exchanged on issues of regional and global significance, alongside ways and means of strengthening Pak-U.S. bilateral relations as a source of political and economic stability in South Asia.
Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh extended an invitation to Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett to visit Pakistan and lead a Texas business delegation in the coming year, which she accepted in principle.
Meanwhile, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh attended a luncheon hosted by the American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) in New York.
The Ambassador acknowledged APAG’s efforts in promoting Pakistani heritage and identity in the American society and highlighted the importance of working with local representatives to enhance educational, economic, and social opportunities for the Pakistani-American community.
The Ambassador also visited the newly dedicated “Allama Iqbal Avenue” in Richmond Hill, Queens. He lauded the naming of the avenue as a meaningful recognition of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Iqbal, and a tribute to Pakistan’s heritage in New York City.
