AJK, Pakistan accord priority to dialogue, peaceful resolution of grievances: AJK Spokespersons
July 12, 2026

The governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan have always given priority to negotiations, reconciliation, and the resolution of public grievances.

This was stated by the Spokesperson of the Azad Kashmir Government, Guftar Hussain, and the Spokesperson of the AJK Police, Irfan Masood Kashfi, at a joint news conference in Muzaffarabad today.

The spokespersons said the sit-in being staged by the banned committee for the past thirty-six days has severely disrupted the supply of food, medicines, and other essential commodities to Poonch Division.

The spokespersons said the government is constitutionally and morally bound to restore access to blocked roads and ensure the uninterrupted movement of people and goods.

The spokespersons termed incitement, damage to public property, and attacks on law enforcement agencies as unacceptable.

Regarding the upcoming election in Azad Kashmir, the spokespersons said the general elections will be held as per schedule, with no possibility of any change or delay.

They urged people to exercise their right to vote responsibly, reject provocative propaganda, and play their role in maintaining peace, stability, and the rule of law.
