The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will hold a special session in New York today to discuss humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The 193-member assembly will meet after Egypt and Mauritania made a formal request in a letter to the UNGA President invoking the UN General Assembly Resolution 377 known as 'Uniting for Peace'.
