Speakers at a conference in London have urged the British government to take a more active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute.
The conference held in the British Parliament highlighted the plight of Kashmiris in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming their right to self-determination.
It was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and won strong support from British Members of Parliament, councilors, and human rights advocates.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured when Indian troops opened fire on them in Poonch district.
Indian police also arrested an 18-year-old Kashmiri youth, during a cordon and search operation in the district.
An Indian army Havaldar shot himself to death with his service rifle inside his camp in Rajouri district. This is 615th such incident of suicide by Indian forces personnel deployed in the territory.
In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police raided the residence of martyred veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani and the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat office in Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police specifically targeted Syed Ali Gilani's room in the Hyderpora area, seizing his personal books, important documents, and other materials.
The police also raided the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat office in the area, and confiscated documents.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat organizations have strongly condemned the raids and termed these a sign of India's growing frustration.
