Ceasefire b/w Pakistan, India result of int'l diplomatic efforts: Tarar

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar says recent ceasefire between Pakistan and India is a result of the diplomatic efforts of different countries.

In an interview with Sky News, he said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his gratitude to President Donald Trump, who played a pivotal role in the ceasefire.

Attaullah Tarar said President Donald Trump, in his second tweet, made it clear that he wants resolution to major issues between India and Pakistan, and he specifically mentioned Kashmir issue, saying that we would like to settle it.

The Minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also thanked the leadership of China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkiye and Qatar, which also played a key role in ceasefire.

He said the Director Generals of Military Operations of Pakistan and India have contacted each other. He said ceasefire is not a weakness of Pakistan, but a success of Pakistan's strategy.

To a question regarding Pahalgam incident, Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan expressed its concerns and sympathies with the victims and their families.

He said Pakistan offered transparent investigation into the incident, but India don't entered investigation and without any proof, India leveled baseless allegations against Pakistan.

He said till date, they have not been able to produce a single evidence to Pakistan, linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident.

Attaullah Tarar said despite deployment of more than seven hundred thousand troops in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Pahalgam incident is an evidence of India's security failure.  He said no group has claimed responsibility of the Pahalgam incident so far.

Responding to another question about Indus Water Treaty, he said Pakistan has the upper hand on this issue legally. India has not stopped the water yet, and they don't have the capacity to stop the water.

Regarding the Pakistan's military response to India, he said we targeted their military installations and ammunition depots and inflicted heavy losses on them, which is before the world.  He said Pakistan don't think India would be in a position to sustain.

To a question about presence of alleged terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar completely denied any safe haven or any terrorist camp in Pakistan.

The Minister made it clear that the entire Pakistani nation stands should to shoulder along with its valiant Armed Forces.
