In Somalia, twenty-six people have been killed and fifty-six others injured in an overnight attack on a hotel in southern port city of Kismayo. Jubbaland State president Ahmed Madobe said incident occured when an al-Shabab suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into popular Medina hotel in Kismayo town, before attackers forced their way inside the hotel.
He said ten foreigners from Kenya, Canada, America, Britain and Tanzania were among those killed.
Madobe said four attackers were also shot dead in the operation.
The al-Qaida allied terrorist group, which is fighting to topple international-backed government, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
