The National Assembly began its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad this evening with Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.

Munir Iqbal Channar took oath today as a Member of the National Assembly.

He was elected in a by-election in NA-168 Bahawalpur.

The House offered Fateha for the departed souls of several people, including late MNA Mehmood Bashir Virk, as well as personnel of the security forces and law enforcement agencies.

Lawmakers paid rich tribute to the late MNA Mehmood Bashir Virk for his services to democracy and contributions to legislation.

They prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and strength and courage for the bereaved family to bear the loss.

The House will now meet tomorrow at 11 a.m.
