The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has unanimously condemned the killing of Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh while covering an Israeli army raid in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the Security Council also called for an immediate, thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into her killing.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said the United States is deeply troubled by Israeli police's intrusion at the funeral of Shireen Abu Akleh.
