India’s economy, public welfare under strain amid political concerns
June 14, 2026

In India, Narendra Modi's power obsession has left the country's economy and people in wrecks.

Kolkata based newspaper The Telegraph has reported that Indian economy is shattered, with currency depreciating and capital fleeing the country.

It further highlights that India's foreign exchange reserves face mounting pressure, driven by fall in remittances.

The paper writes that a huge amount of public money has been spent to portray Modi as a great man.

The Modi government is also influencing institutions like the Election Commission for personal gain.

The paper writes that pressure on media also played an important role in Modi and Amit Shah's stay in power.

International experts say India currently operates under plutocracy where a small elite is sustaining the rulers.

The experts say Modi, in a bid to solicit votes, has created fear among Hindus that Muslims will start ruling them.

Modi and Amit Shah have become enemies of Muslims for political gains and to impose Hindutva ideology.
