All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to mount pressure on India to release illegally detained Hurriyat leaders, youth and activists languishing in jails across India and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri detainees.

He urged the UN to press India for their release and settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the World Body's resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile, Indian forces have intensified raids and searches across the occupied territory.

Counter Intelligence Kashmir, backed by the Indian Army and paramilitary forces, conducted cordon-and-search operations and raided houses in Shopian and Kulgam, while searches were also conducted at several locations in Kupwara.
