
Prime Minister has directed for provision of every possible guideline to people regarding registration and other necessary procedures to get fuel subsidy under PM Special Relief Scheme.
He was chairing a review meeting regarding the PM Special Relief Scheme for motorcycles, rickshaws and 800cc cars in Islamabad today [Monday].
The Prime Minister directed that the SMS required for registration for the subsidy should be made free of cost.
The fuel subsidy scheme will be launched for residents of Islamabad from tonight, while people across the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, will be able to avail the petrol relief from the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
The Prime Minister directed the Chief Commissioner and Inspector General of Islamabad, along with the administration, to remain present in the field to guide the public and facilitate them in completing the registration process.
He also called for mobilizing elected representatives and volunteers across the country to assist citizens in registration and other necessary procedures.
Shehbaz Sharif instructed the authorities to launch an extensive awareness campaign about the scheme through print, electronic, digital and social media platforms.
The meeting was briefed that over 600,000 SMS messages have been received in the Islamabad region since the launch of the scheme, while 42,933 applicants have successfully registered.
It was further informed that only four basic pieces of information are required for registration: Computerized National Identity Card number, vehicle number plate, province of registration and vehicle registration date.
