January 15, 2021

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed says the government will not stop the Opposition to protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday, if they abide by the law and Constitution.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore today (Friday), he said the opposition can practice their constitutional right, but the law would take its course if they try to create unrest in Islamabad.

The Interior Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan has formed a committee to hold talks with the opposition.

He said the government is not afraid of the protests of the opposition parties but it is time to observe whether the opposition respects the law and Constitution or not.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan would not give any sort of deal to the opposition as he is committed to hold accountable all those who plundered the national exchequer.
