UN calls upon world leaders to urgently step up action to tackle climate change
January 15, 2021

The United Nation has called upon world leaders to urgently step up action to tackle climate change.

A report published by the UN Environment Program says that governments across the world are not putting in enough resources and efforts in this regard as impacts of climate change will continue to intensify and hit vulnerable countries the hardest.

The report says annual adaptation costs in developing countries are estimated at 70 billion dollars but will increase to 300 billion dollars in 2030.

The report also underscores the need for nature-based low cost solutions to reduce climate risks.
