President Dr Arif Alvi has stressed the need to ensure that next general elections in the country are free and fair.

In an interview, he said elections at national, provincial, and local levels reflect the will of people.

The President was of the view that elections should be held on or before time but avoiding election is undemocratic.

He said the Election Commission should always be prepared for holding the elections.

The President stressed upon the political parties to take responsibility for taking the country forward.
