Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert about heat wave from today (Thursday) till Monday in the province.
According to PDMA, the temperatures are likely to rise from five to seven degree Celsius more than usual during day times.
All Deputy Commissioners have been directed to ensure all precautionary measures to avoid any loss of life and property.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast the first heat wave of May, with extreme weather conditions expected to grip most parts of the country over the next two to three days.
A high-pressure system is likely to prevail over the region starting from today (Thursday), leading to a significant rise in daytime temperatures across both southern and northern parts of the country.
