Haroon Shaukat (Former Ambassador): Pakistan-Turkiye bilateral relations are exemplary. Both the countries have strong ties in the defense sector but in terms of trade and investment the volume is moderate. Both countries are making all out efforts to increase the trade volume between them. Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is committed to having strong bilateral relations with Pakistan and he believes that strong ties between two Islamic countries are pivotal. Turkiye can support Pakistan in wastewater treatment plants. In Lahore there is not a single wastewater treatment plant, whereas only in Istanbul there are over 50 wastewater treatment plants. It is need of the hour that the Turkish investors take advantage of favourable investment climate in Pakistan and invest in various sectors.
