Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed that all available resources be utilized to provide every possible assistance and relief to people affected by the rains.

He was talking to Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik who called on him in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister directed the NDMA to maintain effective coordination with the relevant provincial departments and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs).

Shehbaz Sharif also directed the relevant departments to strengthen coordination to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on link roads and bridges during the rains and to facilitate the transportation of relief supplies.

The NDMA Chairman said that due to the advance preparations directed by the Prime Minister, the relevant departments have been able to better monitor the monsoon season and take effective measures.

Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik briefed the Prime Minister on the expected trends for the ongoing monsoon season and the overall preparedness measures being carried out through coordination among the provinces and relevant departments.
