In India, daily COVID-19 case count has reached eight-month peak.

India has reported its highest daily count of new novel coronavirus infections, with more than 271,202 cases recorded in the last 24 hours.

Health Ministry of India stated on Sunday the death toll reached 486,066 and the number of active cases now stand at 1,550,377.
