Minister for power Awais Leghari has ruled out any plans of government to impose taxation on solar net metering.

Talking to a private news channel, he said government will not withdraw its regulations related to net metering for already installed solar systems.

He said net metering is a billing tool that allows consumers to send excess energy generated by solar panels to local grid in exchange of credits to monthly electric bills.

He urged people to resort solar power to reduce load on system of power generation.
