Pakistan's nuclear assets completely safe: Rizwan

Pakistan's Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has said Pakistan's nuclear assets are completely safe.

In an interview with a private television channel, he said this fact has also been acknowledged not only by International Atomic Energy Agency but also repeatedly by the United States.

He said our national approach towards nuclear capability is firm and highly responsible.

The Ambassador also highlighted that India’s conduct and approach regarding nuclear materials has been a cause for concern, citing multiple examples.

He mentioned there were reports of a radioactive device being stolen last year from India’s Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said our conventional and non-conventional capabilities are aimed at promoting defense and peace. We have made it clear to the world that our capabilities have contributed to the establishment of peace.

He said our region cannot afford any adventurism. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said enhancing trade relations with the US is a top priority.

He said President Donald Trump has a business-oriented mindset. Pakistan can meet the needs of the U.S. market by utilizing its capabilities.

The Ambassador said work is underway to strengthen bilateral cooperation not only in the security sector but also in fields like minerals, IT, and agriculture.

He said Pakistan in recent times has proven its technical capabilities, which will further boost Pak-U.S. cooperation in these sectors.
