Death anniversary of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan observed

The 25th death anniversary of the legendary singer and Qawwal Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was observed on Tuesday.

He was born in Faisalabad on 13th October 1948 and was son of Fateh Ali Khan a musician, vocalist and Qawwal.

He started his career by learning the Tabla before moving to vocals.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan died at the age of just 48 on 16th August 1997.

The government of Pakistan bestowed pride of performance in 1987 for his remarkable contribution to Pakistani music.

He was also honored with the prestigious UNESCO music prize.

As per Guinness book of world records he holds the world record for the largest recorded output by a Qawwal artist with a total of 125 albums as of 2001.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was not only popular in Pakistan but also in the world.

It's been twenty five years since Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away but his legacy is a proof that he may be gone but never forgotten.

Meanwhile, on 25th death anniversary of the legendary singer and Qawwal Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to his services for Pakistani music.

In a tweet on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said music maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan left this world 25 years ago but his voice continues to mesmerise the world.

The Prime Minister said Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's music echoes through generations and inspires people across the world.

Similarly, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has paid rich tribute to Qawwali Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on his 25th death anniversary.

In a statement today, she said late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan gave a new color to classical music and captivated the world with his mystic words, songs, ghazals and qawwalis.

She said Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's beautiful voice still rules our hearts.  The Minister also prayed that may Allah grant him high ranks.
