UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a halt of Israeli military operations in Lebanon.

He was addressing peacekeepers at the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon. 

Antonio Guterres said the continued occupation by the Israel Defense Forces inside the UNIFIL area operations and the conduct of military operations in Lebanese territory are violations of UN resolution and pose a continued risk to safety and security of the people.
