January 17, 2025

WHO calls for global community to step up and fund a scaled-up aid response in Gaza.

The U.N. health agency said its member states, donors and the global community, including the private sector, should support both the urgent health needs and the longer-term rebuilding of Gaza's healthcare system.

WHO representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, speaking at a virtual press conference said the UN cannot deliver the response alone.

He said part of the ceasefire deal requires 600 truckloads of humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza every day.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces in their relentless strikes have martyred five Palestinians in the west of Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

The martyrdom toll of Palestinuians in Israeli genocide in besieged Gaza, since October 7,2023 has risen to over forty six thousand and seven hundred.

The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip.
