In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, political leaders have demanded immediate release of Hurriyat forum Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, from continued house detention.

In an interview in Srinagar, Senior National Conference leader Hasnain Masoodi urged the Modi government to set the Mirwaiz free so that he can perform his religious obligations.

Meanwhile, APHC leader and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement Chairmran Mir Shahid Saleem leading a protest demonstration by Muslims in Satwari area of Jammu against a controversial order of the administration banning sale and purchase of meat/chicken in Jammu during Navaratri, a Hindu festival, and holy month of Ramadan.
