Social Safeguard Specialist of the Punjab Urban Land System Enhancement Malik Waseem Awan has said that under the PULSE project, the division of jointly owned agricultural land is being carried out on a large scale across the province.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan correspondent Qasim Bukhari, he said that the PULSE project is playing a key role in dividing jointly held agricultural land.
He said this initiative was initially limited to specific districts, but it has now been expanded throughout the province to ensure the timely completion of a modern and transparent land records system.
Malik Waseem Awan said that under the PULSE project, the ’Wanda Karao, Sukh Pao’ campaign has been launched. Through this campaign, boundary and ownership disputes will be resolved, land buying and selling and inheritance matters will be streamlined, land record verification will become quick and accurate, computerized mapping of ‘Khewat’ and ‘Khasra’ will facilitate measurements, agricultural issues will be addressed promptly and women’s inheritance rights will be protected.
He informed that public awareness campaigns, local meetings and public gatherings are being organized to ensure the success of the joint ‘Khewat’ division process.
He said this system will greatly benefit landowners by providing them with clear and authentic information about their land.
Malik Waseem Awan informed that the Parcel Mapping Survey by the Punjab government is successfully underway and there is no fee for this service.
He urged agricultural land owners to take immediate advantage of this free division of joint land.
