Analysts slam Indian attempts to change demographic structure and status of IIOJ&K
June 17, 2021

Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Asif Yasin Malik (Former Defense Secretary): Kashmir is a nuclear flashpoint between India and Pakistan. It is a critical issue for peace and the international community must take it seriously to avoid disastrous consequences. The United States is exhibiting a selective manifestation of morality. India has crossed all limits of atrocities in the held valley. Unfortunately, the Western powers have adopted criminal silence over Kashmir only for their strategic and financial interests. The United States uses India as a proxy to counter China's rising influence. India has become a regional threat and is taking the region towards nuclear war.

Brig. (Retd.) Harris Nawaz (Defence Analyst): India is playing with fire by committing worst atrocities in IIOJ&K. Modi regime is trying to change the demography of Kashmir by illegally settling Indian citizens there. The brutal Indian forces are killing innocent Kashmiri people to suppress their indigenous freedom struggle. Pakistan is taking concrete measures to highlight the issue of Kashmir at international front. Islamabad is pursuing an effective diplomacy to advocate the Kashmir cause and sensitize the world about plight of Kashmiris. The United Nations has failed to take practical steps to stop Indian atrocities in the held valley. The innocent people of Kashmir have right to defend their motherland through any means.

Dr. Rasul Bakhsh Rais (IR Expert):  Pakistan is a responsible state and we abide by all the international laws. Giving consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav is in accordance with the international norms. India should also respect international values and UN resolutions. The issue of Kashmir must be resolved in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions. Pakistan is committed to support the people of Kashmir in their legit struggle for self-determination. Ties between Pakistan and India cannot be normalized without a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
