Dr. Hasssan Daud But (Economic Expert): Pakistan and China have joined several B2B frameworks for promoting bilateral trade and economic cooperation. In this regards, our government organized Pakistan-China Business-to-Business investment conference which offered immense opportunities to business communities of both the countries to join hands with each other in the form of joint ventures or others. I think that business communities of both sides must benefit from these opportunities. Pakistani business community has great experience of dealing with European businesses; therefore, Chinese entrepreneurs may also benefit from Pakistani firms experience. Moreover, robust security system and mechanism is fully operational in Pakistan for the security of foreign especially the Chinese businesses or investors. Chinese are our next door neighbours so both can do a lot in terms of promotion of trade and economic cooperation. Pakistani pharmaceutical sector offers huge foreign investment potential. We have regulatory framework for facilitating the investors. At the conference today, Pakistan and China have signed several agreements worth 440 million dollars in the field of pharmaceutical industry. Both sides have also joined hands in several joint ventures and can move forward further. Pakistan is surround b six central Asian states and Iran; thus Pakistan offers a huge market for exports so Chinese investors can benefit from this massive market.
Zamir Assadi (IR Expert): Pakistan-China ties have been very cordial and exemplary over the decades. China has invested over $25 billion in Pakistan during first phase of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Now 2nd phase of CPEC is underway and both sides are trying to bring private sector and businesses to closer to each other. In this regard Pakistan-China Business-to-Business investment conference was organized to promote cooperation in pharmaceutical sector. Now it is time for Pakistan to benefit from Chinese expertise in this sector. I think that agreements signed today between Pakistani and Chinese firms and companies will promote Pakistani industry. China is committed to work on CPEC 2.0 phase so massive Chinese investment in Pakistan is expected in coming years. Our government wants to modernize our agricultural sector. Pakistan has also sent thousands of youth to get training in Chinese agricultural institutions. These young agriculturalists have returned home now to serve the nation. Chinese President has held conference on AI and Pakistan has become founding member of International AI association.
