In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed deep concern over deteriorating health conditions of illegally detained pro-freedom leaders and activists, calling for their immediate release.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas emphasized that these leaders and activists are facing imprisonment for years under false charges in Indian and IIOJK jails.
He urged the international community and human rights organizations to take notice of the Kashmiri detainees’ plight and pressure India for their release.
Meanwhile, Indian soldiers and paramilitary personnel have launched massive cordon and search operations in Mohri Shahstar area of Poonch district and several villages in the Sharda Sharif region of Rajouri district.
These operations are bolstered by advanced technologies, including drones, sniffer dogs and helicopters, to support ground troops. Local residents have reported feelings of intimidation during the operations, as the troops conduct searches in homes and public spaces.
On the other hand, the Democratic Freedom Party, led by incarcerated senior Hurriyat leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah, has congratulated Pakistan on its successful hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization conference.
In a statement in Srinagar, DFP spokesperson noted that the SCO's goals for regional peace and prosperity cannot be achieved without addressing the long-standing dispute in line with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
