Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has paid tribute to the men and women of the Foreign Service of Pakistan who have dedicated their lives to advancing Pakistan's national interests and strengthening relations with countries across the world.
In his message on Foreign Service of Pakistan Day, he honoured the pioneering officers of the Foreign Service who, in the formative years of the country, worked under extraordinarily challenging circumstances to establish Pakistan's diplomatic presence on the world stage.
Ishaq Dar said that today our diplomats continue to represent Pakistan with distinction and are playing a vital role in expanding our diplomatic, economic and strategic partnerships, promoting Pakistan's positive image, and advancing our interests and aspirations abroad.
He said that this year, the Foreign Service of Pakistan has continued to promote regional peace and stability through sustained diplomacy, dialogue and engagement.
He added that our diplomats have supported Pakistan's facilitation of engagement between Washington and Tehran, culminating in the Islamabad Talks. The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement (Makkah Accord) among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye has opened further avenues for strategic cooperation, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs playing an important role in carrying this partnership forward.
Ishaq Dar said that as we look towards the future, we must remain steadfast in meeting emerging foreign policy challenges with unity, professionalism, foresight and determination.
