Japan expresses commitment to work closely with Pakistan

Pakistan and Japan have signed a 9.91 million dollars grant in aid project for improvement of maternal and child health equipment in flood-affected and surrounding areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.                  

The grant agreement was signed at a ceremony in Islamabad today.                               

The project aims at strengthening the diagnostic and treatment systems in the flood affected areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It will help improve the provision of medical equipment necessary to provide maternal and child health and medical services for high-risk pregnant women and newborns.                

On the occasion, Secretary Ministry of Economic Affairs Dr. Kazim Niaz said successful implementation of this project will be ensured for more meaningful cooperation between the two countries.  

Charge d'Affaires of Japan to Pakistan, Takano Shuichi reiterated his country's commitment to work closely with Pakistan to further strengthen the friendly ties and bilateral cooperation.
