United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed deep concern over clashes in West Darfur of Sudan.

In a statement, his spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said UN chief calls on Sudanese authorities to expend all efforts to de-escalate the situation and bring an end to the fighting and ensure the protection of civilians.
