Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif formally inaugurated the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign, 2025 by planting a sapling in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said forty-one point seven million saplings will be planted during the campaign across all provinces of the country, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

He emphasized this tree plantation campaign will help reduce pollution and combat diseases.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of tree plantation in the context of the rapidly changing climatic and environmental conditions.

Recalling the devastating floods of 2022, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is on the list of the most vulnerable countries to the effects of climate change, despite contributing very little to greenhouse gas emissions.

He urged all citizens, especially the youth and farmers, to actively participate in this tree plantation campaign.
