Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the officials concerned to ensure honorable and hassle-free provision of petrol subsidies to the people.

In a statement, he also directed to enhance the scope of beneficiaries.

Based on feedback received from across the country, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken another key decision. Motorcycles, Chingchi and auto-rickshaws, which refuel less than five litres of petrol, will now receive a weekly discount of 500 rupees against a single token.

One token will be issued per week, totalling four tokens per month.

Meanwhile, people using vehicles up to 800cc will continue to receive a discount of 100 rupees per litre on up to ten litres of petrol every ten days, as per the existing arrangement.

In this way, the practice of issuing three tokens containing ten litres of petrol per month will also continue.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced making the registration SMS service completely free for citizens eligible to benefit from the scheme.
