Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhary criticized the opposition for boycotting the meeting of Parliamentary Committee on National Security.   

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he said this decision of the opposition was contrary to the national interests.

He said the military leadership gave a detailed briefing to the meeting on the overall security situation in the country.  He said had the opposition participated in the meeting, their inputs would have been incorporated in the future planning.

The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs regretted that a particular party is doing the politics of hatred and division.  He said their actions are aiding the agenda of anti-Pakistan forces.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhary reaffirmed the commitment to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country. He paid tributes to the sacrifices of security personnel in the war on terrorism.
