The thirty-fifth death anniversary of renowned Pakistani music director A. Hameed was observed on Wednesday.  

His real name was Sheikh Abdul Hameed and he was born in Amritsar in 1924. 

He started his career as a pianist before migrating to Pakistan.

Sheikh Abdul Hameed composed music for several successful films including Anjaam, Saheli, Bharosa and Aulad.

He received the Nigar Award for Best Music Director for the film Dosti in 1971.

He passed away in Rawalpindi on this day in 1991.
