The caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the budget of over four-hundred and sixty-two billion rupees for next four months of fiscal year 2023-24.
The budget was approved in the cabinet meeting with caretaker chief minister Muhammad Azam Khan in the chair.
Later talking to media in Peshawar this afternoon, Advisor to Caretaker Chief Minister on finance Himayatullah said that three-hundred and nine billion rupees have been set aside for settled districts and forty billion rupees for merged districts in the budget.
He said the government has allocated more than fifty-one billion rupees for settled areas while eight point six billion rupees for merged districts under the Annual Development Program.
Himayatullah Khan said three hundred and fifty billion rupees have been sanctioned for non-developmental expenditures while one hundred and twelve billion rupees for developmental expenditures.
The Advisor announced thirty-five percent adhoc relief allowances in salaries of government employees from BPS 1 to 16 and thirty percent for BPS-17 and above while seventeen percent increase in pensions of retired employees.
