In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of additional troops deployed under the guise of Amarnath Yatra have aggravated the miseries of Kashmiri people in the already heavily militarized territory.
The 57-day pilgrimage is scheduled to commence on the 3rd of next month, but the heavy deployment of troops has made life more miserable for Kashmiris already living under Indian siege.
Conversely, the Muharram processions face strict restrictions in the occupied territory, exposing the pattern of discrimination against the Muslim majority.
Meanwhile, the Ladakh Buddhist Association and the Ladakh Gonpa Association have announced a region-wide strike and rally on Tuesday to press for the resolution of issues.
On the other hand, a report released by Kashmir Media Service on World Refugees Day today revealed that over forty thousand Kashmiris belonging to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir live a homeless life, fleeing Indian state terrorism in the territory.
The report says Indian forces' violence over the past several decades has forced thousands of Kashmiris, including women and children, to abandon their homes and live a life of displacement.
It notes that the displacement of Kashmiris is not a recent phenomenon as hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Jammu were expelled amid violence and communal targeting by Dogra forces and Hindutva extremist elements in 1947.
Since then, over three point five million people have migrated to Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, and other parts of the world.
