Analysts urge the world not to be duped by India’s portraying of normalcy in IIOJ&K
February 21, 2021

Syed Fakhar Imam (Federal Minister for National Food Security): It is third attempt of New Delhi government to take hand-picked diplomats to Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in order to give impression to the world that normalcy exists in the valley. Meetings of the diplomats were carefully arranged with the pro-Indian people and no Hurriyet leader was even allowed to meet the delegations. The only solution to prevailing situation in the occupied valley is the effective implementation of the UN resolutions. Indian forces have used every tool of brutality at their disposal to suppress the indigenous movement of Kashmiris. The world must take notice of grim human rights violations in the held valley and force India to stop its aggression. It is crystal clear that that no unilateral step could change the disputed nature of Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir that is internationally recognized. Pakistan will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they secure their inalienable right to self-determination.

Ali Muhammad Khan (Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs): If Narendra Modi has moral courage he must lift the curfew in IIOJ&K and let the people come out of military siege before his visit to the area, so that he sees the reality. He should also let independent observers to visit the occupied valley so that the world witnesses the Indian atrocities and human rights violations. Kashmiris are determined to carry out struggle to get their fundamental right to self-determination. Pakistan is standing with their Kashmiri brethren and Prime Minister Imran Khan is effectively advocating Kashmir dispute at all international forums. All the political parties in Pakistan are on same page and want the solution to this core dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions. Sooner or later, India will have to face the consequences of its policies in the IIOJ&K.

Sikandar Shah (Expert on International Law): Any Indian attempt to take the pro-Indian ambassadors to the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir must be rejected by the world. If India wants to show to the international community that everything is normal in IIOJ&K then it must allow the UN Military Observer Group to visit the occupied valley, as the supra national body is the only authentic platform in this regard. The world is well aware of the fact that after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A in Jammu and Kashmir, nothing is normal in the territory. Pakistan needs to take up the issue at all international forums. The Indian hegemonic designs and aspirations to become the Asian super power will never materialize as it remains New Delhi’s policy to hoodwink the world through its fake propaganda. Kashmir has become the world's largest prison and the innocent Kashmiris have been under Indian military siege for the last many years. The people's rights to assembly, free movement, freedom of expression and even to safety of life and property are routinely violated in the IIOJ&K with impunity.
