Masood Khalid (Former Ambassador): The recent visit of Foreign Minister to Iran holds great significance for Pakistan. Islamabad is pursuing effective diplomacy to promote regional peace and connectivity. It is appreciable that Shah Mahmood Qureshi is actively engaged in meetings with the important regional countries. Iran is an important country for Pakistan and we look forward to improving these ties in future as well. The region is witnessing some major political shifts and Pakistan is devising its foreign policy in accordance with these shifts. Pakistan is taking corrective measures to resolve Afghan dispute. Pakistan can play an important role in bridging the gaps between Iran and Saudi Arabia. We are committed to endorse any initiative taken for regional peace and security. Pakistan has emerged as an important regional player. It is important to maintain good ties with regional countries in changing political scenario of the region. Pakistan's positive role for regional peace and connectivity cannot be undermined.

Dr. Salman Shah (Economist):Tehran is an important capital for Pakistan. The Foreign Minister's visit to Iran would further strengthen ties between two Muslim countries. Iran is rich in minerals and energy resources and we can enhance bilateral economic ties with Iran. Pakistan has so much to offer to Iran and both the countries can take benefit from each other. Gas pipeline project needs to be completed and we can expect more investment from Iran.

Shahid Hassan Siddique (Economist): Pakistan and Iran have great potential to enhance economic ties and trade activities. Iran and Pakistan have always been close to each other in terms of culture, religion and history. As being the neighboring countries, Pakistan and Iran can engage in trade with lowest transportation charges. Pakistan realizes the significance of improving economic ties with neighboring countries. Both the countries are located at an important geographical location. It is high time for Pakistan to enhance economic ties with Iran.
