
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says both Iran and the United States are sincere in their efforts and genuinely want peace in the Middle East.
He was responding to questions during an informal interaction with newsmen in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, today on the sidelines of US-Iran technical-level talks.
Shehbaz Sharif said the Iranian leadership has handled the entire crisis with a great sense of dignity and they genuinely mean to promote peace.
Regarding the US leadership, Shehbaz Sharif added that he has no second thought about President Donald Trump that he is a man of peace, which he demonstrated during the India-Pakistan war last year by intervening effectively, saving millions of lives.
To a question about US Vice President JD Vance's heartfelt sentiments about Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif said this renewed Pak-US friendship is very encouraging.
He said this will usher in a period of very close coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister thanked US President Trump for supporting Pakistan in promoting economic cooperation and combating terrorism.
