Over 3800 Sikh Yatrees from India arrived in Lahore through special trains via Wagah on Wednesday.
The yatrees will take part in the 549th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nank in Gurduwara Janam Istan in Nankana Sahib.
The officials of Evacuee Trust Properties Board received Yastrees at the Wagah railways station.
Talking to the Radio Pakistan representative Shazia Mushtaq, the ETPB spokesman Aamir Hashmi said that main ceremony will be held on the 23rd of this month at Nankana Sahib and the sikh yatris will also visit the Hassanabdal on 24th, 26th Lahore 28th Rohri and will return to India on 30th of November.
He said that the Sikh Yatrees will perform their religious rituals and celebrate birth anniversary in a traditional manner.
Adequate facilities have been provided by the government of Pakistan for extending all-out hospitality to the sikh pilgrims.
They will be provided free meal, conveyance and medication.
Foolproof security measures have been taken to ensure the protection of the Sikh Yatrees.
