Ehsan Danish remembered on his 42nd death anniversary

The 42nd death anniversary of noted poet and philologist Ehsan Danish was observed on Thursday.

Ehsan Danish was born in 1914 in Kandhala Muzaffarnagar (India). He demonstrated an exceptional passion for languages and learnt Urdu, Persian and Arabic.

At a young age, he moved to Lahore in pursuit of livelihood, where he remained settled for the rest of his life.

Ehsan Danish did creative work in every genre of poetry. Among his poetic collections are:  Hadis-e-Adab, Dard-e-Zindagi, Tafseer-e-Fitrat , Aatish-e-Khamosh, Nawa-e-kaargar, Sheeraaza, Charaghan and Goristan. Ehsan Danish left a memorable legacy in Linguistics.

Ehsan Danish's autobiography "Jahan-e-Danish" also earned fame in academic and literary circles. This book was not only awarded "Adam Ji Literary Award" by the Pakistan Writers Gold, but the Government of Pakistan also awarded him a cash prize for it.'

It is pertinent to mention here that the Government of Pakistan awarded Ehsan Danish with "Sitara-e-Imtiaz" and "Nishan-e-Imtiaz" in recognition of his scholarly and literary services.
