Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has stressed that energy security is vital for economic resilience and overall economic stability.

Addressing a high-level dialogue organized by the World Economic Forum in New York, he said ongoing geopolitical conflicts and disruptions in fuel supplies have shifted global attention from energy transition towards the immediate challenge of energy security.

He said Pakistan has witnessed significant expansion in the solar energy sector, largely driven by the private sector, demonstrating the potential of renewable energy to reduce dependence on imported fuels.

Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized that challenges in securing energy supplies have wider economic implications, as energy security is closely linked with food security and broader economic strength.
