Over 439,000 illegal Afghan refugees have been deported from Iran this year.

According to a new report by the United Nations refugee agency, UNHCR, eighty-six percent of those deported were unregistered Afghans residing in Iran without legal documents.

According to the report, the large-scale return of undocumented Afghan nationals has increased pressure on housing, employment and basic services in Afghanistan.
