Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and consultations to promote peace, security and stability in the Middle East and the wider region.

According to Foreign Office, the consensus was reached during a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York today.

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers exchanged views on recent regional and international developments to strengthen collective security.

They underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path towards a sustainable resolution.

The Ministers stressed the need to uphold the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding for lasting peace and stability.

They condemned the Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed support for its sovereignty, territorial integrity and security.

They also affirmed the Kingdom's right to defend itself, its territory and its people in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

The Ministers stressed the importance of safeguarding the safety and freedom of maritime navigation and reaffirmed support for the legitimate Yemeni government and the Presidential Leadership Council.

They reiterated support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and an independent State of Palestine based on the 4th June 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Foreign Ministers of the four countries reaffirmed support for Sudan's sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity, and stressed the need to halt the illicit flow of weapons, mercenaries and foreign fighters into Sudan.

The Ministers agreed to maintain coordination on regional and international developments to strengthen collective security and promote long-term regional stability.
