October 22, 2026

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar says the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains an unfinished agenda of the United Nations.

In his address on the occasion of United Nations Day, he said the legitimate right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination must not be forgotten or subordinated to geopolitical considerations.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan remains committed to the principles of the UN Charter.

He said, guided by the vision of our founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Pakistan's foreign policy rests on sovereign equality, non-interference, self-determination and the peaceful settlement of disputes.

He said Pakistan has always chosen diplomacy over confrontation, engagement over isolation, and partnership over polarization.

The Deputy Prime Minister said Pakistan believes in multilateralism that is inclusive, representative and reformed.

He said developing countries must have a stronger voice in decisions that affect them.
