Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has delegated powers under section 3(1) of Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960 to Deputy Commissioners across the province in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

In a post on X handle, he said the move is aimed at ensuring timely and effective preventive action at the district level, reduce administrative delays and strengthen coordination with law enforcement agencies.

The Governor however emphasized that these powers must be exercised strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law. He said the powers must never be misused.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that peace, security and protection of the people remained his foremost priority.
